And the debates go on and on…
How many more debates are we going to have before the conventions? Good lord…I feel like there’s one every other day! But they are needed. Never in the history of our country has the lineup been so diverse. I speak of the Democrats of course. As these debates continue and the questions get tougher and more specific, we, as a country, begin to narrow down who we want to lead us. For me, it’s down to the same three I had strong feelings for when they all announced they were running.
Clinton: I’d be a liar if didn’t say that her being a woman wasn’t a factor. To have someone who could really identify with our plight in the White House is something I never thought I would see. This isn’t the only reason of course. (And for the record I do not relate to Conde AT ALL.) I do think she is a strong candidate. She knows how to play the game. She isn’t all idealistic thinking she is going to change the world just by becoming President. The Hill is still The Hill and it is still ruled by the same boys club it has been ruled by for centuries. She knows her way around it. And to be fair if she were any softer than she is now, she would be considered a weak woman and wouldn’t be the Democratic front-runner. But because she is a woman, they call her cold. I like her stance on Universal health care. For the most part, I know where she stands on issues. She waffles a little but mostly because she knows she has to say certain things a certain way. But the problem is…you either love her or you hate her. That’s not really conducive of uniting a country.
