All things random: Heath, Air, Yael, Spears

Random as chaos theory….

First and foremost, RIP Heath Ledger. It’s is so shockingly sad that he passed away so unexpectedly yesterday. The entire office was buzzing as soon as the news broke. IM’s, email, MTV News, CNN, ABC, CBS, Gawker, Perez were all over it. I really don’t think he committed suicide even though there are reports that he had slipped into depression and had taken to sleeping pills due to his issues. I really can’t speculate much more than that as I didn’t know him personally, even though he and Michelle Williams lived my Boerum Hill neighborhood when they were together. But I did like him as an actor. He was a great actor in all his roles, the teen fluff (10 Things I Hate About You) to serious (The Patriot) and brave (Brokeback Mountain) roles.

He was young, hot, sexy and oh so talented. It kind of reminds me of the whole River Phoenix overdose back when I was but a wee little girl. I LOVED him. I was so sad. And I am sad over Heath. My prayers go out to his family, friends, Michelle Williams and most of all, his adorable little girl, Matilda.

Baby, it’s damn cold outside

Brrr…winter is here. We’ve been pretty lucky so far that the winter has been mind. Get out your blankets, call your snuggle partner, drink some red wine. Point is, stay warm.

Today is also MLK Day. The day most of, but not all of, the US celebrates the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I still don’t understand why for some businesses, this is an “optional” holiday. The man should be celebrated! Though I am an ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton, I LOVE that we as a country have a black man as a main contender in the race for President. This would never have been possible without the work of DR. MLK.

Obligatory “WTF?! It’s 2008!” post

I’m still recovering from food poisoning I got earlier this week. If you’ve never had, thank your lucky stars because it might be the worst thing in the whole world. It’s the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. I thought I was dying of cholera (note: I just watched The Painted Vail). But I’m on the path to recovery. Still can’t quite eat solid food yet, much less drink so I am home on Friday night. Fun. Kidding. I’m bored out of my mind.

Soooo…I’m blogging.

The Race in ’08

Iowa was a bit of a surprise, I must say. Iowa *hearts* Huckabee? Hillary in 3rd? Biden drops out? Richardson didn’t?

The claws are coming out and blood is starting to show. Tonight, ABC aired the New Hampshire Debates. 2 Parties, 1 Night. And yes, I watched the whole damn thing. I feel so grown up.
