SNL Returns! Tina Fey is awesome! Proclaims “Bitches get stuff done!”

Finally! After months of this writers strike, SNL returned live last night with the amazing Tina Fey as the host. A quick cameo appearance by Steve Martin was made during the opening monologue as he tried to convince Tina that she was more than a writer, she was a performer.

It was a funny show, but as per usual, Weekend Update is where I get the most laughs. We all knew there were going to be some comments regarding the Presidential race. Mike Huckaby was hilarious as he missed his “cue” to exit. If Mike keeps on getting votes, part of it has to do with the fact that he’s not afraid to laugh at himself. His appearances on Colbert have also been quite funny and made for some interesting antics during the strike between Colbert, Conan and Stewart. on “who made Huckaby.” Too bad he’s a conservative whose politics are antiquated and would move us back about 100 years.

Workin’ on the weekend

Yes, I’m working today on a show that I’d never watch. What can I say, this is my job.

Anyway, I want to chat a bit about the debate the other night in Texas between Obama & Clinton. You know, I wouldn’t want to debate Mrs. Clinton either. She excels in this field. She gives detailed answers, can deliver a good inspiring messages but also sound strong, as a President should be.

I know there’s been a lot of hubub about the “plagerism” accusation of Obama and his speeches. And I also thought at first, it was a bit petty. But then, when Hillary made her comment, “It’s not change you can believe in, it’s change you can xerox.”, I agreed. Though it drew boos from the crowd, I think she makes a very valid point. He talks about how much words matter and everyone talks abotu how he can motivate people with his words, but if he is motivating people with other peoples words, then what do you have left? Now this wouldn’t be such a big deal if his camp didn’t make as big a deal of his “words” but they do so it’s only fair & right that those words come under scrutiny when they aren’t his own.

Just the highlights please

So the 50th Annual Grammy Awards are airing tonight. Here are some highlights:

* Alicia Keys + Frank Sinatra open: It was cute. Reminiscent of the Nat & natalie Cole tribute

* The Time reunion + Rihanna: Right before The Time came on, Prince had introduced an award. I was hoping there would be some “Purple Rain” kind of montage or medley. But no such luck. RiRi was great though.

Make it snappy

The past 48 hours have been a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me for reasons I can’t really get into right now. But I’ve been itching to write something all day even if it’s a summary blurb. So here it goes.

* The primary day to end all primary days ended up not ending anything. Barack and Hillary are so close. They have split the Democrats in half! I’m so excited for this election. It’s so exciting to see 2 candidates that the people love. Not just 2 candidates we have to choose from. I do have to say, because I’m a Hillster, that I’m disappointed that her lead has narrowed. She is still ahead but not by much. I just hope she hangs on to it. Keep Bill locked up! YES SHE CAN!!!!!
