Just the highlights please
So the 50th Annual Grammy Awards are airing tonight. Here are some highlights:
* Alicia Keys + Frank Sinatra open: It was cute. Reminiscent of the Nat & natalie Cole tribute
* The Time reunion + Rihanna: Right before The Time came on, Prince had introduced an award. I was hoping there would be some “Purple Rain” kind of montage or medley. But no such luck. RiRi was great though.
* Beatles tribute: I’ve still not seen the “Across the Universe” movie, but have been meaning to. Anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE the Beatles so this was a great segment for me. It was nice to see the boys from London together sitting next to Yoko.
* Kanye being rude and ungrateful again: Seriously?: Dude, come on. Don’t use your mom or her death as yet another excuse to be a rude ass who feel like he should win everything and pouting when you don’t. Be happy you got one. It’s an honor and a privilage to get a Grammy, not an entitlement.
* Alicia Keys sings “No One”: This is one of my favorite Alicia songs ever. She looked and sounded great. Much better than her appearance on the VMA’s.
* Rihanna & Jay Z together again: Did you see? She grabbed his hand right in front of B! I know, I should restart the rumors.
* Rihanna & Beyonce’ loose to crack head: I hope this will be a kick in head to Winehouse. Maybe now she knows she needs to get her head straight if she wants to keep on winning these awards. I think she was genuinely shocked when she won. She hugged her whole band, mom, etc. when she won. I do love her albums, but her performance still lacks luster to me.
