Generation Kill

I am constantly amazed at the quality programming that HBO greenlights. Their latest mini-series, “Generation Kill” will no doubt get many statues this upcoming award season. While I’m no big fan of war stories, I am drawn to the personal stories of the Marines on this show. The teleplay, written by Ed Burns (genius!) was adapted from Even Wrights book of the same name. He was the reporter from Rolling Stone that rolled with the 1st Recon Battalion and wrote about these brave souls as they entered the 2nd Iraq War.

Jay-Z: A Billie remix = FIRE

This song is just redunc! I’ve been bumpin it for a minute but just want to share thoughts. Jay is still spittin’ fire and this remix of Lil’ Wayne’s A Milli just proves how much he still has left in him. This was a freestyle and we all already know he never writes ish down anyways. And I’ve not always been Lil’ Wayne’s biggest fan but he is winning me over quickly. LW also raps, “I don’t write shit cause I ain’t got time.”

This joint is hot. Bounce! No wonder so many fools are putting out their own Milli freestyle.

A Letter to the Government

Dear US Government:

I am writing to you today to file a formal complaint regarding the recent customer service the People of the United States have been receiving recently. I know this wouldn’t be the first complaint filed with you but we the People are going to need some sort of response soon.

I’m sure you know (but continue to ignore) what the people want, which is to bring our troops home and to get out of this situation that your President and CIF have gotten us into. And because of this battle for oil and power, covered up as rouse to free a country that doesn’t want us there, the American People are suffering. Our rising oil prices are doing no one any good, except perhaps the oil magnates, for which your President and his family is one.

Heat Wave

It’s July in New York. If you’ve ever been here during the prime summer months, you know that the heat + humidity can be unbearable. We are definitely in the think heat of summer now folks. We’ve had 4 days of 90+ degree weather and it won’t be cooling off for a few more days. On this hot & humid Sunday, I’m taking a break form the heat and staying indoors chilln’ with my central air. Ahhhh. I’m not complaining though, I’d rather have extreme summer heat that below zero winters.

Crushin…

So if you know me, you know how much I LOVE dancing. I love to watch it, I love to do it. I was a dancer in a former life, I swear it. And of course, I watch almost all the dance shows on TV right now. By far my favorite is So You Think You Can Dance. But a close 2nd is America’s Best Dance Crew. I watch both religiously. My DVR is put to good use on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

In this 2nd season of ABDC, Nor.Cal is represented by Supreme Soul, which is a spin-off group of Soul Sector (big up Mikey Disco). Anyway…while they perhaps aren’t doing the best on the show, I know SS is an amazing group of dancers. Soul Sector has been around for a looong minute and they rep SF to the fullest. They should be proud. And so…I’ve developed a crush on Mitch Sanedrin. He’s frickin’ adorable and he moves like water in the ocean. This clip is him just goofing off, but damn kid…skillz.
