A Letter to the Government
Dear US Government:
I am writing to you today to file a formal complaint regarding the recent customer service the People of the United States have been receiving recently. I know this wouldn’t be the first complaint filed with you but we the People are going to need some sort of response soon.
I’m sure you know (but continue to ignore) what the people want, which is to bring our troops home and to get out of this situation that your President and CIF have gotten us into. And because of this battle for oil and power, covered up as rouse to free a country that doesn’t want us there, the American People are suffering. Our rising oil prices are doing no one any good, except perhaps the oil magnates, for which your President and his family is one.
While the rich are still getting richer, the middle class and the poor are getting poorer and poorer. A family that would normally have set money aside to take a 2 week road trip vacation can no longer take that vacation because (a) they weren’t able to save money because the cost of living is so high (b) gas prices are so high that it doesn’t make sense to fill up the gas at $100 a tank.
Filling up your car isn’t the only problem we the People have been having lately. The cost of staples such as milk, utilities, public transportation, general food, etc. These are all due, again, to the rising cost of oil. The costs keep going up and up while the value of homes goes down. Due to the shrinking profit margins at many large companies across the country, lay-offs are rising, making it increasingly more difficult for your average American family to just get by.
On a personal note, the rising airline prices have kept me from visiting my family as much as I used to. While you, the Government, may not give a flying fuck if I ever see my mother, sisters, brother, niece and nephews ever again, they are part of my motivation in life. And now, I can only see them twice a year. Thank you for putting a strain on the family values & connections your company claims to support and promote.
In conclusion, we the People would like to see results sooner than later regarding this situation. While the current President will be out of office by this November, I implore you to work with his successor to get this country back on track. The American people work hard and we want to know that the country we work so hard for is working to make our lives better, not worse.
