Paint the White House Black

I am overcome with emotion and joy with the election of our 44th POTUS, the first African-American POTUS – President Elect Barack Obama.

I’m still crying tears of joy as I write this with echos of fireworks coming from the street. Our hope has beat the odds and is a testament to how great this country can be. He moved this country like no one could have. He will change the world like no one we have seen before. We, the people, are starting to heal as we speak and the rest of the world is sitting up and taking notice.

I am proud to be an American today. I am honored to have voted in one of the most important elections in the history of our country and our world.

But we have along road ahead. There are many problems to fix and we have chosen Barack Obama to lead us through this dark time. The changes will not happen overnight. But change ‘gon come. This country now belongs to the younger generation. My generation who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you, President Obama, for giving us hope and proving to the world how powerful that hope can be.
