If I were a producer, this is what I’d make

I’ve been in and around music for most of my life. Had a stint working in it and took a step back so that I could love it again. Hip-Hop is the foundation from which I built my taste and library from. It shaped me into the audiophile I am today.

Over the past many years, hip-hop has become stale to me. Innovation was rare. All these rappers and producers started sounding the same…interchangeable even. I had always been a fan of other genres but with the dying musicality of hip-hop, I went further…dipping into Punk, Classic Rock, Alternative and even a little country (yeah, I said country. Don’t hate).

Keys + Colbert = best. ish. eva

Seriously…I love the Daily Show with Jon Stewart but Colbert just effing KILLS it. This along with him showcasing the Fela broadway musical, he is the King of late night.

Despite my frustrations with the MTA service cutbacks/budget deficit problem, Ratner trying to destroy Brooklyn with yet another loosing basketball team and our unbelievably useless State Senate, I do love this city.

Paris, je t’aime!

I’m back from my amazing trip to London & Paris. It was an exquisite trip and one that has fueled my Wanderlust even more. I enjoyed both cities but Paris…oh Paris. It was love at first sight and I will definitely be back. Hopefully after I learn to speak better French!

London calling? J’adore Paris?

So the day is almost here. Actually…it’s only 9 hours away. I’m finally headed to my much needed and highly anticipated vacation to London and Paris. It’s my first time to both and I can’t describe how incredibly excited I am. And yes, it really is my first time to London & Paris. Hard to believe with all the traveling I do. lol

I’ll also be heading on this trip on my own. I have a few friends in London but none in Paris. Truth is, I really just need to get away from…everything. I need me time. I’ve always been pretty independent so I have no problem making my way solo. I need to focus on clearing my head, working on some photography, writing (I’m gonna get this story done for you, X!) and just living life out loud a little bit.
