The Best of Brooklyn
I love living in Brooklyn. It’s really one of the best places I’ve ever lived (and I’ve lived in many cities). And to show my love, here are a few of my favorite BK-centric blogs. They aren’t the most popular on the interwebs but these give great insight as to what’s going on in the neighborhood. Obv. this is not an all inclusive link but surf around and I’m sure you’ll find some other great BK blogs out there. If you stumble upon one of note, please let me know!
Brownstoner: a site about Brooklyn real estate and renovation, and all the tangential topics that impact life inside and outside the home in Brooklyn.
Brit in Brooklyn: Mostly a photo blog through the eyes of an import.
Eat It: The Brooklyn Food Blog: Well the title speaks for itself. A great blog about restaurants in the ‘hood, reviews, openings, etc. With so many restaurants in the area. One can get easily lost in the shuffle of good eats.
BK 11201: Photo-blogging Cobble Hill & Brooklyn Heights with a cellphone camera. You see the most interesting things just walking around.
Small Town Brooklyn:
A low tech, GFX site about the BK hoods. Includes color coded maps of the neighborhoods. Click on a street and it will show you the stores, restaurants, etc. Also includes a list of upcoming local events, classes, etc. Great resource for someone who just moved to Brooklyn.
NYC Bloggers: A map of the city that shows where the bloggers are, organized by subway stop. Find out who’s blogging in your neighborhood! Pretty nifty!
