Blog Fail

Helloooo…everybody! My appologies for being so absent on the blog recently. Work has gotten busy again so, you know, no time to blog…or tweet…or FB. So it goes, the more stuff you have to blog about, the less time you have to actually do it.

So just quick random things in my head:

* RIP Walter Cronkite…and that’s the way it was. They don’t make newsmen/women like Walt any more. Serious journalistic integrity. No amount of bloggers, pundits or tweeters can stack up to Mr. Cronkite. Your legacy lives in news men like Brian Williams.

* Summer in the CITY: New York is the best place to be in the summer months. Endless amounts of free concerts, outdoor dining, sun bathing in various city parks…night life til 4am. Just attended the Little Dragon/Q-Tip/Benji B show in Central Park yesterday and it was fantastic. THE concert of the summer and glad I was there. Pics soon.

* I already need a vacation from my new projects…but that will have to wait until November.

* Speaking of projects…I was thinking in my time off that I’d like to use my skills for something more than just concerts & broadcast events for the pop music obsessed * teeny boppers. I started looking into working for the USO or the UN. I know, I know, dream on but I really would like to contribute these production management skills I have to something more meaningful. So the other day, I get a call from a friend. She called to see if I would be interested in working an event for the UN. YES! But long story short, I can’t take it because I’m already booked on other things. And leaving them now would be a kind of unprofessionalism I don’t ever want to associate myself with. Ultimate bummer. I’m going to take it as a sign though. A sign that I shouldn’t loose sight of wanting to do better things in this world. And I will find a way some day…but sometimes, we just have to be able to pay rent.
