Ask me, ask me, ask me
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Lyrics are so simple but beautiful. Morrissey’s voice always give me a sort of calm.

Last night, I tossed and turned. I thought it was another bout of insomnia. It comes and goes, usually when there’s a lot going on in my head. But I really couldn’t figure out why I was having so much trouble sleeping.
I finally dozed off a little after 6am EST only to have the alarm clock go off about an hour later. I tried to get up but just couldn’t do it. I’ve never been a morning person but it was really difficult and I had an important meeting in CT today that I really needed to get to. But something inside made me cancel.
A weekend jaunt to my old stomping grounds included (in no particular order):
* Homies
* Sushi
* Dim sum
* Mexican food
* The Park, Keelay & Karim
* SFMoma
* Rollin with the Homies
* Fog
* A view from the Other Side
I’m coming of one of the toughest show I’ve ever done. I was at lunch with my mentor/Exec Producer on Jan. 14. While we were catching up, she answered a phone call from BET and they wanted her to help put on a Haiti telethon for Feb 5th…in Miami. That was just 3 weeks away. Yikes.
We immediately started working, she hired one of my fave Line Producers and we began to work – budgeting, holding staff/crew, researching hotels and sourcing equipment, rentals, everything. Under normal circumstances, this show would take 2-3 months of planning. We had 3 weeks. Less if you take into consideration that we didn’t get an “official” green light until 6pm on Jan. 20.
