We stumbled upon a little dollar store in Williamsburg yesterday and found these Yo! MTV Raps trading cards circa 1991. Hilarious. There seemed to be an abundance of Vanilla Ice cards in the packs we got.
My favorite were the Big Daddy Kane cards…I ended up with 3. Woot! The rarest, when comparing with everyone else, was the Paris card and the Ted Demme card. .
As if we couldn’t love him enough, POTUS Barack Obama slayed at the annual White House Correspondence Association dinner this past Saturday. It’s been a while since there has been a President that I could watch without wanting to: a) throw up b) throw the TV against the wall c) throw a shoe at. So it is a refreshing change to have one that I look forward to seeing. As hoped, Pres. Obama delivered a great comic routine at the WHCD aka Nerd Prom.
It was interesting to see all the coverage from this dinner which had an increased number of celebrities attending. The inter-webs were all a twitter about it also. To the point that the C-Span twitter feed included the #nerdprom hashtag alongside the more official #whcd hashtag and MSNBC made jokes about it.
