Too young, too soon

Last night, I tossed and turned. I thought it was another bout of insomnia. It comes and goes, usually when there’s a lot going on in my head. But I really couldn’t figure out why I was having so much trouble sleeping.

I finally dozed off a little after 6am EST only to have the alarm clock go off about an hour later. I tried to get up but just couldn’t do it. I’ve never been a morning person but it was really difficult and I had an important meeting in CT today that I really needed to get to. But something inside made me cancel.

Paris, je t’aime!

Paris, je t'aime!

I’m back from my amazing trip to London & Paris. It was an exquisite trip and one that has fueled my Wanderlust even more. I enjoyed both cities but Paris…oh Paris. It was love at first sight and I will definitely be back. Hopefully after I learn to speak better French!

I’m a bit short on time but more posts to follow about the trip. In the meantime, please enjoy these photos.

Happy Anniversary…to me

Six years ago today, I boarded a JetBlue plane from LAX with a one way ticket and two large suitcases. I was off to make a life in New York City. All but one person in the months preceding tried to convince me not to come here.

You see, NY was still recovering from the WTC events and the economy was in the tank. The US had started bombing Iraq the month before, on the day I bought my one-way ticket. I had no job lined up. I had some savings, a shared sublet in Crown Heights and some impossible feeling that it was going to be OK despite it all.
